Check the law before you buy. In Victoria, a Level 50 or Level 50S lifejacket must be worn on a stand up paddleboard more than 400m from shore, and Safe Transport Victoria strongly recommends wearing a lifejacket at all times. It also strongly recommends a leg leash at all times, warning that inflatable boards can be blown away quickly by wind. Other states set their own rules, so check the state where you paddle before you go.
